Hello I bought a vcx nano for GM. I also bought multi diagnostic tool.  I was going to buy 2 license I was wondering if I did that would u transfer my gm to multi tool. It would help me alot

Installation is difficult, but the reward is worth the trouble. I, as well as many other people, had a difficult time getting the software installed correctly. Over the course of a couple days and much searching online, I finally found a different order of install than the instructions described which worked for me. Despite what they say, I am running tech2win on a Win 10 Pro 64-bit machine without issue. It's all in the install procedure. Get that right and you're golden. Personally, I had to run the MDI.exe file before the autoinstall.exe to get it installed correctly.

works freat, can be tricky to install. I loaded SW on a dell latitude d620 running windows 7, runs fine. Didn't want to start and run properly at first, reinstalled a couple of times and ran after that fine, believe windows usb drivers are at fault. Does everything a tech2 can do as far as I can tell. I also purchased a obd2 extension cable so the unit isn't hanging down by pedals. I think my old dell is overheating so loses comms after 15 or 20 minutes but do not think it's th is devices issue. Already saved me the purchase price just syncing HVAC doors.

I got it to work using VCX Manager 1.8.4.0315 Version and delete all GM associated stuff and then running that VCX manager with updates already done while installing Techline connect. Worked on both Windows 8.1 as well as Windows 10 Home.

Finally, i had programmed the ecu with vcx nano and techline connect, I had to install a clean win10 , tlc vcx manager and the passthru, vpn.

I ordered this VXDIAG; it does everything a Tech 2 can. I will also need to do a security relearn and a few other things later.

I ordered one direct from VXDIAGSHOP. Mine comes with wifi,vxidag gm without wifi is cheaper,10USD less. I already have Tech2Win setup and Saab GlobalTIS. With any luck this will work out and be a very inexpensive alternative to either a clone Tech2 at around $300 or the Mongoose at $480-$490. I first tested the interface and Tech2win on a 2009 GMC Savannah full size van. I was able to connect, read engine data, read other modules data ( BCM ETC) with no issues. i also tested C6 Corvette, it worked.

This was very easy to set up and work perfectly to replace an ECU on a 2011 Buick LaCrosse fully loaded with all the accessories.

It is easy to set up, if one follows the instructions on the USB drive and add the programs in the correct order. I installed it on a older Windows 7 upgraded to free Windows 10. My laptop only has 2GB of RAM, and it still works awesome. One tip, select North America when setting up the Nano. I married the VIN to Navigation unit to remove the Theft lock without any issues. Already paid for itself, as the dealer would have charged at least $100 to do the same. BTW it comes with a license good until 2030, so no need to buy one as perctye description. A license is required to purchase for the hand held tech 2 unit only.

I'm going to recommend what I should've done to make it less painful for the next guy. Find an older laptop with 4G of ram and run Windows 7 Pro 32. I tried other windows OS and couldn't get it to load the software correctly. I finally installed Win 7 Pro 32 as a last ditch effort and was up and running in no time. Happy I didn't send it back!!!

Can I install this on a different laptop or is it locked to one only ?

I finally managed to get this Nano talking to my Truck's and then I received the error message Inserted below.

Is it correct that the ABS Protocol on my truck isn't supported?  And won't be?  Or, am I still doing something wrong?

My truck is a 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe 'Sport'.  It has 4-Wheel Drive, so uses the 4WAL ABS System from Kelsey-Hayes.

Can you help?

I also have a Chevrolet from 2012 and had no success at getting a 'valid license' for the GDS2 software.

Hi i bought a vcx nano for gm and its fantastic. Mega product!

We should be all set!  I reinstalled Windows, then just installed VX Manager, with J2534 only,  then the GM Techline Connect, and it connected, and flashed, no problem!

The vcx-nano is a great tool to have and I would highly recommend it as it can do a lot, i've also used some cheap bluetooth dongle and phone app to check balance rates.

Anybody who says this doesn't work on 64 bit systems or Windows 10 just isn't trying hard enough. Tech2Win and GDS2 communicate just fine and have had no problems reading every vehicle I plug into. No compatibility mood needed.

I love this device. I purchased it as i was quoted 150 for a crankshaft variation relearn on my silverado. For less than the cost of the dealership fee I was able to have a tech 2 scanner. I already had an old laptop around. That being said, installing the programs requires you turn off your browsers safe search and hope your anti-virus doesn't jack with you. It took me a good 2 hours to get everything working right. That being said I was able to clear thw crank variation code and will be able to do so much more now!
