I have had VCX SE for a few years now, it is amazing. Use with Xentry, ISTA, ODIS, Vediamo/DTS, Chrysler WiTech, Toyota, JLR SDD/Pathfinder (DOiP works great). Even managed to get it to work with Alpha OBD for Maserati (software looks like a child made it, but it works OK for service resets and things. ).
The vcx se doesnt require any additional software to work with odis, ista, diagbox etc. You have to buy the right licenses from vcx to work with each brand. odis, ista etc is pretty cheap.
Highly recommended.

The vxdiag is a J2534 interface, which allows you to work with several software like Inpa, Odis, Xentry etc.
So you only need an interface, and the license that goes with it for each brand

I use vcx se for Xentry, ISTA, SDD, Pathfinder, GDS2... and actually, worked great as Pass thru for J2534 Trionic can flasher.
